Oversized Marbled Celluloid Promotional Display Pencil on Industrial Stand - This lot features an oversized promotional advertising display pencil manufactured by the American Pencil Company of New York. The barrel is constructed from marbled celluloid in a variegated pattern of green, black, and gold tones. One end terminates in a natural wood cone sharpened to reveal a graphite core. The opposite end is fitted with a metal ferrule and a rounded metal cap. The barrel is marked with silver-toned stamped lettering that reads AMERICAN PENCIL CO. N.Y. followed by PATENT APPL'D FOR. The pencil is supported by a custom industrial-style display stand composed of a flat rectangular steel base and two vertical threaded rods cradling the barrel.
