Antique Pope Manufacturing Co. Cast Metal Advertising Ashtray - An antique advertising ashtray produced for the Pope Manufacturing Company, constructed from cast brass or bronze-plated white metal. The rectangular piece features a central recessed well with a high-relief logo depicting a spoked wheel overlaid with a flowing banner. The banner is embossed with the text POPE MANUFACTURING CO. BICYCLES-AUTOMOBILES. The wide, flared rim is heavily decorated in a Rococo-revival style, featuring elaborate scrollwork, shell motifs, and foliate patterns. Two integral rests for cigarettes or cigars are positioned on the shorter sides. The underside of the tray shows a darkened, oxidized finish.4.75 inches W x 3.25 inches D.
