Western Electric Company Cobalt Blue Glass Bell Paperweight - A vintage pressed glass advertising paperweight produced in the shape of a bell, the long-standing symbol of the Bell System. The item is constructed from translucent cobalt blue glass and includes a molded handle at the top. The bell body is decorated with white enameled lettering on two sides. One side is inscribed with the text WESTERN ELECTRIC COMPANY in three lines. The reverse side features the inscription TELEPHONE & TELEGRAPH APPARATUS AND SUPPLIES, also arranged in three lines. The Western Electric Company was the primary manufacturing and supply unit for the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) for much of the 20th century.
