A strongly worded draft of a letter of protest signed by rabbis of the Eida Charedit regarding the status of the Chief Rabbinate
A strongly worded letter signed by rabbis of the Eida: Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund, Rabbi Yisrael Moshe Dushinsky, and Rabbi Eliyahu Zlotnik. Jerusalem, Elul 1973. A draft featuring the original signatures of these rabbis, in which they protest something initiated by the Chief Rabbinate: “When they said ‘Rav on behalf of’, to do so when 3 years ago it was opposed by Maran…Rabbeinu Selig Reuven Bengis greatly, and also Maran … the Chazon Ish who wrote to forbid it…”.
It seems likely that this draft was meant to be printed and published across Jerusalem.
