Letters by the Most Prominent Rabbis in Support of Taharat Ha'Mishpacha (Purity of the Family) – Bibliographically Unknown
Two large leaves on which were printed letters by the most prominent rabbis of the 1840's:
The Chafetz Chaim; the Ridbaz, author of 'Aruch Ha'Shulachan'; Rabbi Yitzchak Blaser; Rabbi Raphael Shapira of Volozhin; the Rebbe of Amshinov; the Rebbe of Ostrowiec, the 'Chelkat Yoav'; the Rebbe Rabbi Avraham of Sochaczew.
The leaves were edited by Rabbi Chaim Ya'akov Naftali Zilberberg (his stamp appears on the lower part of one of the leaves), who dealt with explaining to women the rules of purity.
The first letter: Warsaw, the 21st of Shevat 1902
Among others, it is written: "It is necessary to print a summary of the main rules and hang them on the walls of Ezrat Nashim of the synagogue … and we ask that even she who knows the rules well act with humility and read the printed leaves on the walls …it is also necessary to establish a society of women in every town … to teach the women who come to the Mikveh the rules … and there are places where it is preferable that women not speak much on this matter with the women who come to the Mikveh…"
The letter is signed in print by the Chafetz Chaim, Rabbi Chaim of Brisk, the Ridbaz, the most prominent Rebbes and more. A total of 19 signatures of the most prominent rabbis.
Rabbi Avraham of Sochaczew added to his signatures several warm lines.
