A Rare Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Rebbe of Satmar and the Rebbe of Blozhov!

A letter of recommendation handwritten and signed by the Rebbe Rabbi Yisrael Shapira of Blozhov. Extremely rare!
Under his words, two lines handwritten and signed by the Rebbe Rabbi Yoel of Satmar were added. 25 words handwritten by the Rebbe, with his handwritten signature.

The Rebbe Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum (1887–1979), the son of the Rebbe Rabbi Chanaya Yom Tov Lipa Teitelbaum Av Beit Din of Siget and author of "Kedushat Yom Ton" and the grandson of the Rebbe Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Teitelbaum Av Beit Din of Siget and author of "Yitav Lev", was the founder and first Rebbe of the Satmar dynasty. A major figure in the postwar renaissance of Hassidism, he espoused a strictly conservative and isolationist line, rejecting modernity. 
From a young age, Rabbi Teitelbaum was renowned for his intellectual capacities, his holiness and purity. Even before his wedding, he received letters of ordination from eight prominent rabbis, including Rabbi Moshe Greenwald, author of 'Arugot Ha'Bosem'. After his wedding, he settled in Satmar where he taught a selected group of disciples and Hassidim Torah and Hassidism.
In 1911, he was appointed rabbi of Irshava (according to our estimation, the letter, which is not dated, was written during his first year there). Upon the outbreak of World War I he returned to Satmar, where his stood at the head of its Beit Midrash. Since 1925, he served as the rabbi of Carei. In 1934, he was appointed the rabbi of Satmar. In all the cities of which he was rabbi, he stood at the head of a large yeshiva and even larger group of Hassidim. In 1939, he was described by a local newspaper as "a Rebbe whose influence spreads over all Carpathian Russia which belongs to Romania. He appoints rabbis, Shochatim and Gabaim throughout the complete county".
During the Holocaust, he was included in the Kastner Train and through Bergen-Belsen reached the USA, where he established the largest Hassidic court in the world. In 1961 he was chosen as the president of Ha'Edah Ha'Charedit of Jerusalem, even though he lived abroad. After the death of Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis, the Rebbe was appointed Gaon Av Beit Din of the Edah.

The Rebbe Rabbi Yisrael Shapira of Blozhov was born in the city of Reisha in Galicia in the month of Cheshvan, 1889.
Since childhood he studied Torah diligently and was ordained at the young age of thirteen by the Maharsham of Brezan (Berezhany). He served as the rabbi of Prochnik, and was later appointed rabbi of Ustrzyki Dolne, near Sanok, in southeastern Poland. After his father's death in 1931, he became the Rebbe of Blozhov.
His wife and children were murdered by the Nazis yet he survived, encouraging the Jews who were prisoners of the Janowska concentration camp where he was also prisoner and later the Jews who were prisoners at Bergen-Belsen. For a short period of time after the war he lived in Antwerp, Belgium yet due to the persistent pleas of his Hassidim, he moved to the USA, living first in Williamsburg and later in Borough Park, where he founded the Hassidic Beit Midrash of Blozhov. The Rebbe also played an important role in the development of Agudat Yisrael of America and was a member of its Mo'etzet Gedolei Ha'Torah.
He visited Israel several times and many came to be blessed by him.
He died on Rosh Chodesh MarChashvan 1998 at the age of 100.
