Official letter of the central committee of Agudat Yisrael of Czernowitz. The 18th of Iyar 1938. To Rabbi Avraham Moshe Babad. Signed by Rabbi Mordechai Friedman (the Rebbe of Sadigura?) and an additional person. Content: the Shemitah fund, whose role is to enable the observation of the Shemitah by the haredi workers in the Land of Israel. A fascinating, important letter. Stencil on thin paper.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Babad (1862-1930) Av Beit Din of Gura Humora since 1890. The grandson of Rabbi Yosef Babad, author of "Minchat Chinuch", one of the leading rabbis of Bucovina.
His Hassid son Rabbi Avraham Moshe Babad (1900-1980)a Torah and Kabbalah genius. Replaced his father as the rabbi of Gura Humora and after the Holocaust, a rabbi in Tel Aviv. The brother-in-law of the Rebbe, the "Makor Baruch" of Siret-Vizhnitz and the founder of the "Yachel Yisrael" Yeshiva of Haifa.
Condition: Fair-Good. Wear and tear, stains.
